We welcome all students to study a semester or a year at our Faculty as part of the programme in their home institutions. We are especially pleased to invite the students of Universities with which we cooperate under ERASMUS scheme. However, even if your home University has not signed an ERASMUS agreement with us, yet you wish to do a period of studies at IFE, and your University accepts your choice, we are waiting to hear from you!
APPLYING
Applications should be sent to the IFE office not later than on 30 June for the autumn semester and 15 November for the spring semester. You should receive the confirmation by 15 August for the autumn semester and by the mid-January for the spring semester.
Application is made by using all the documents enumerated below:
- on-line application form available from http://iferasmus.p.lodz.pl
- Paper forms : Application Form http://www.ife.p.lodz.pl/attachments/628_application%20form.doc Learning Agreement http://www.ife.p.lodz.pl/attachments/603_learning%20agreement.doc Transcript of Records issued by your home university
You should already have a precise idea of the programme of study you wish to follow. You have to consult your course selection with the home institution's ECTS Coordinator or your Supervisor.
When the student, the home institution, and the host institution agree about the study programme abroad, they sign the Learning Agreement. This Agreement must be reached before the student leaves for the host institution. The Learning Agreement is a document describing the programme of study abroad and its existence facilitates full academic recognition.
A student may have to modify the agreed programme of study upon arrival at the host institution for a variety of reasons. Agreement for the changes by all the parties must be obtained in order to guarantee full academic recognition of all course units taken abroad. These changes will be indicated on the reverse side of the Learning Agreement.

ACCOMMODATION
The University cannot guarantee a place in a university dormitory to every international student because the number of rooms on campus is very limited. However we will do our best to book accommodation for all who apply for it.
You should notify your intension to stay in a dorm in your Erasmus Application Form.
All dormitories are located within a walking distance from TUL faculties. Therefore it does not take long to walk to the building of the International Faculty of Engineering from any of them.
The accommodation consists mainly of double rooms. Single rooms are hardly available. The price of a shared accommodation is approximately 350 PLN a month per person. The rent must be paid every month to the hostel bank account.
If you are not happy with your accommodation in a dormitory or prefer not to stay on campus, you may choose to live in a private rented flat. Although still not so popular, this option is preferred by some students. Yet, please note that the university does not have a database of city lodgings and does not act as a go-between in private lodging renting.
STUDENT CARD
Each student enrolled in the Technical University of Łódź is issued a picture identification card. The card verifies that the holder is eligible to use University library and certain other campus privileges and services. It also entitles a student to discounts on train, bus and tram fares (if the student is less than 26), as well as museum, theatre and cinema tickets. Neither the card nor its privileges may be transferred. Your student card must be returned to the IFE office before your departure home.
