THE HISTORY OF IFE
- 1992 – The Senate of Lodz University of Technology formally established the International Faculty of Engineering as an academic unit of the university. Its creation was made possible through collaboration with the University of Sydney and substantial financial support provided by the Government of Australia.
- 1993 – TUL launched English-language programmes at the International Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and admitted its first students for the Electromechanics specialisation.
- 1995 – To provide facilities for the newly founded faculty, TUL acquired from the City of Łódź the building of the former Wedding Palace, located at 10/12 Ks. Skorupki Street.
- 1996 – The International Faculty of Engineering was subsequently transformed into its current form.
- 1997 – The matriculation of the first cohort of French-language studies in Gestion et Technologie took place within the Faculty of Organization and Management. At the same time, IFE celebrated the graduation of its first alumni.
- 1998 – IFE was the first in Europe to launch the ‘Mobility Semester’. A compulsory semester abroad was introduced. Students travelled abroad as part of the Socrates/Erasmus programme.
- 1998 – IFE was the first in Poland to introduce the ECTS credit system for all specialisations.
- 1999 – Within IFE, the association EYE – European Youth Exchange – Poland was established, which today continues its activities as ESN-EYE Łódź.
- 2000 – In line with the principles of the Bologna Declaration, IFE issued for the first time a Diploma Supplement in English to its graduates.
- 2003 – IFE celebrated its 10th anniversary, marked by the organization of the first IFE Alumni Ball.
- 2007 – IFE was relocated to its current premises at 36 Żwirki Street in Łódź.
- 2014 – The number of IFE graduates exceeded 2,000.
- 2017 – IFE organized the 25th Anniversary Gala and became part of the newly established International Cooperation Centre at Lodz University of Technology.
- 2022 – As part of IFE's 30th anniversary, the Ceremonial Inauguration of the 2022/2023 Academic Year took place. The IFE Alumni Association of Lodz University of Technology organized a reunion for former students.
