THE HISTORY OF IFE
- 1992 – The Senate of Lodz University of Technology, by way of a resolution, established the International Faculty of Engineering. Its creation was made possible through collaboration with the University of Sydney and substantial financial support provided by the Government of Australia.
- 1993 – TUL launched English-language programmes at the International Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and admitted its first students for the Electromechanics specialisation.
- 1994 – The International Faculty of Engineering started to lease a villa at 10/12 Ks. Skorupki Street.
- 1995 – To provide facilities for the newly founded faculty, TUL acquired from the City of Łódź the building of the former Wedding Palace, located at 10/12 Ks. Skorupki Street.
- 1997 – The matriculation of the first cohort of French-language Gestion et Technologie studies within the Faculty of Organization and Management took place. The first graduates also left IFE. A meeting was held between representatives of French universities from the Rhône-Alpes region, the regional administration, the City Hall of Łódź, and Lodz University of Technology regarding the establishment of French-language programmes.
- 1998 – IFE became the first institution in Europe to launch the "Mobility Semester." As the number of students willing to spend a semester at a foreign university increased year by year, a mandatory mobility semester was introduced. Students participated in it through Socrates/Erasmus programmes.
- 1998 – Within IFE, the association EYE – European Youth Exchange – Poland was established, which today continues its activities as ESN-EYE Łódź.
- 2000 – IFE purchased and furnished a four-person faculty apartment intended for staff from foreign universities.
- 2000 – In line with the principles of the Bologna Declaration, IFE issued for the first time a Diploma Supplement in English to its graduates.
- 2003 – IFE celebrated its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, the first IFE Alumni Ball was held. During the jubilee event, faculty members and those who had contributed significantly to IFE, as well as numerous international guests, received commemorative medals.
- 2004 – A letter of intent was signed with École Centrale de Lyon and École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers in France regarding a double-degree programme.
- 2007 – IFE moved its premises to the current building at 36 Żwirki Street in Łódź.
- 2014 – The number of IFE graduates exceeded 2,000
- 2017 – IFE celebrated its 25th anniversary. On this occasion, the IFE25 Jubilee Gala was held. The faculty members, those who had contributed significantly to IFE, as well as numerous international guests, received commemorative medals.
- 2017 – IFE became part of the newly established International Cooperation Centre at Lodz University of Technology.
- 2022 – As part of IFE's 30th anniversary, the Ceremonial Inauguration of the 2022/2023 Academic Year took place. The IFE Alumni Association of Lodz University of Technology organized a reunion for former students.
